Federation Board meets in London
Some thirty Board members along with the Federation Mission
Committee and Staff enjoyed the hospitality of our London
Sisters for the annual meeting, October 13-16, 2004. Opening
night, so to speak, was a gala that included those Sisters
of the London congregation who could be present. We socialized
in a beautifully decorated meeting room at the motherhouse,
heard from our President of the moment, Sister Margaret Myatt,
and from London Bishop, Ron Fabbro. Government representatives
sent greetings and good wishes for the meeting. Prior to the
business agenda the Mission Committee presented in music,
drama, PowerPoint and illustrative lecture the findings of
the survey which you answered so well. This was appreciated
to the extent that the Board commissioned the presenters to
take the show on the road so, coming soon to a place near
you, will be this effort to further our directive of getting
to know and love one another more deeply. We are moving on
the issue of trafficking of women and children in direct response
to our second directive for corporate action. At the meeting
the Board elected new leadership: Sisters Patricia Hogan,
President (London), Patricia Valeriote (Hamilton) and Mary
Mettler (Toronto). Those congregations not directly represented
on the Executive have special contact persons with whom we
keep in touch: Sisters Helen Russell (Peterborough), Pauline
Coulterman (Pembroke) and Anne Keenan (Sault Ste Marie.)
