Congratulations to Sister Kathleen Roy

Sister Kathleen Roy, Sister of St. Joseph of Sault Ste Marie, was honoured in a nomination for “Role Model” during the celebration of International Women’s Day. Organizers had asked the public to nominate women who are often not recognized – “the unsung heros who give something back to their community”. A long-standing member/volunteer of the Sudbury Women’s Centre, Sister Kathleen’s commitment to the Roman Catholic faith has afforded her many opportunities in many different countries: in Nassau and Guatemala she has ministered to prison inmates, assisted the sick and poor, taught reading and writing to teens and young adults. Sister Kathleen now continues her community work in Sudbury, where she helps the sick, poor and elderly.
