Federation Annual Board Meeting
October 18-21, 2006
Hamilton’s beautifully renovated motherhouse was the venue for the Federation Board Annual Meeting October 18-21, 2006. The six Leadership Teams with members of the Vocation Team and Formation programmes gathered on Wednesday ,October 18 for dinner and an early evening Opening ritual of song, dance, prayer and presentations reflecting the theme Call: Drawn by a Dream. The first full day of the Meeting included sessions of structured dialogue with Vocation and Formation personnel from our congregations, highlighting the varied understandings of “vocation culture.” This day and the following were ably facilitated by Elizabeth Davis RSM. The ongoing business of the Federation, including evaluations of the past year’s activities and various proposals brought forward by the Executive and other Board members, were dealt with under the rubric of dreams experienced throughout the past year and calls of the Holy Spirit heard within the dreams. The Board said farewell and expressed a warm thank you to outgoing Executive members, Patricia Hogan (London), Patricia Valeriote (Hamilton) and Mary Mettler (Toronto). Incoming Executive members are Margaret Kane (Hamilton), Annette Lacroix (Toronto) and Mary McGuire (Pembroke). Executive Director, Veronica O’Reilly (Peterborough), was recommended for a further term of 3 years. Several tasks were assigned to the Executive Committee who will further the Board’s agenda by completing these assigned tasks and dealing with matters that arise between Board Meetings.
