Federation Office for Systemic Justice
We are very pleased that our Federation Office for Systemic
Justice has taken shape and is already engaging us in the
initiatives which have been directed through the Board. That
includes, among other files, continuing efforts against the
trafficking of women and children. As is our wont, the Office
is collaborating with other groups that share our vision and
you will have noted this cooperative effort in the excellent
letters and publications that have been sent to you recently.
We are fortunate to have two of our own Sisters, Joan Atkinson
and Sue Wilson (London), take on the responsibility for coordinating
and directing the work of the Office. They are doing so from
their base at the London congregations Office for Systemic
Justice, and we are enormously grateful to Joan and Sue and
to our London Sisters for the generosity of this arrangement.
Persons who have been active on justice issues and ecological
concerns in each of our congregations have agreed to form
a committee which will meet periodically with Joan and Sue.
This interaction is designed to deepen the bonds among ourselves
at the level of ministry and to provide mutual support and
information. Their names are listed below. I know they will
continue to represent well your congregations concerns
at the local level and be a conduit for those joint undertakings
of the Federation Office.
Our Website will soon have photos of our Office for Systemic
Justice personnel and further data for your information.
