Meet Rose-Anne Boucher,
CSJ Pembroke Associate

Rose-Anne Boucher
|
After being invited to attend a meeting by friends in Petawawa
in 1997 Rose-Anne Boucher joined the Associates group
of the Pembroke CSJ. She was warmly welcomed and impressed
with this small group of spirited women who were
passionate and energized by the CSJ Charism and spirituality.
They were soon to adopt the name Weavers of the Creators
Dream as they lived out their commitment to participate
in bringing about a transformed church and planet through
inclusive and active love. One experience that remains
a fond memory is the special dance prayer performed
by the Weavers group at her retirement in June 2003.
The group has since been invited to dance at the
gathering in honour of Sr. Eleanor Serran (deceased) in Pembroke
and at a diocesan CWL convention in Chalk River. First introduced
to liturgical dance by Eleanor, the group felt especially
privileged to continue this reverent and prayerful expression
of their spirituality.
Gatherings at the St. Josephs-on-the-Lake Convent,
Pembroke have renewed her faith and led to an increase in
spiritual growth. As the group explores the depths of the
Charism through special days of reflection sponsored by the
local Congregation, participates in aspects of the Chapter,
in Associate led meetings re Nonviolence, in retreat days
exploring the CSJ Spirituality , Rose-Anne has come to a more
vibrant understanding of the Associate Vision of transformed
church and planet. Hers is a desire to flesh out the
self-emptying/letting go and be transformed
in Love. The many gifts she has received through her
experiences as an Associate have assisted her in journeying
toward the life the Creator intends for her. The strong and
Spirit-filled women of the Congregation (both Sisters
and Associate members) have been great role models and mentors.
As a Christian feminist, she feels doubly blessed by the female
energy and ideology which permeate gatherings. Another appealing
factor is the inclusive aspect of the Vision. Rose-Annes
desire to grow in openness and love of all have found a home
and an acceptance. Also important to her is the further exploration
of the idea of oneness which she is just beginning
to fully understand and envision.
As a retired educator, she now has more time to devote to
her passions
development of the Pembroke Associates
group as a member of the new three-person Leadership team,
time with family and friends, travel, volunteer work in her
parish in Round Lake Centre and other local service groups
as well as supporting two fellow Associates in their work
in Guatemala through fundraising initiatives. In November
2005, a small Associates group will be initiated in
Barrys Bay.
Rose-Anne and another local Associate member look forward
to sharing the Charism and spirituality with people new to
the movement. Will they become the second group of dancing
Associates? Rose-Anne hopes so! What is guaranteed - they
will come together, each bringing gifts and insights as they
grow into a small faith community embracing and inspired by
the Spirit.
